Perception Of Time

Our perception of time fluctuates dependent on our state of consciousness. I think it is far more subtle than being relaxed or stressed etc. Sometimes when I am relaxed time seems to go very fast (like on holidays) and sometimes circumstances can be quite similar, buy a different mindset creeps in and time moves slowly.

When I was stressed or bored time used to seem to go quite slowly as well sometimes, but If I am active and engaged time can go by in an instant. Learning subtle brain techniques to change our perception of time has been a goal of mine over the past 10 years.

Various meditative, magickal and psychological (all the same thing really) techniques have shown subtle things I can do to make time go slower and faster.

Taking stock of the moment, and actually recognising each moment as it passes makes time go slowly.
Being very motivated in tasks, and giving them 100% makes time go very fast. Also if you are caught in a narrative, be it watching a movie, being involved in sport or even something at work, having a narrative structure to what you are doing makes time go very fast.

Having a depressed state, mood or low energy makes time go very slowly. If you can learn to break this state then time goes quickly AND you get a lot done during the time.

That is the key idea I think. How we percieve time and how much we can get done in that time. Not that there is anything to do, buy that is entirely another post. If you are energeticly active, time goes fast and you get a lot time.

Time is really linked to subtle psychological states, and these change our perception of it

What is the human condition?

The human condition is an existentialist term for the experience of being a human in the world.

It us kind of a weird, undefined term that one hears a lot but never really pins down the exact meaning of. To me it speaks of the sum totality of the experience of all of us on this planet, and how it is all tied together. The human condition is the way we percieve the world, and our experience of living in it.

It almost seems like a problem that needs to be solved, as we try to work out the primary purpse of
how and why we are here, and what are we supposed to be doing individually and collectivly while we are alive.

This core question has been a keystone to religion and mysticism, as well as nationalism and even imperialism.
So ask youself. Why are you here, and what are you meant to be doing.

How do all the identities that you hold on to interact and influence the ideas?

What was your original purpose before culture implanted it’s own Memes into you?

How can chaos theory be applied to signal processing?

How can chaps theory be applied to signal processing

Chaos theory deals with dynamic systems that are highly sensitive to fluctuations of initial conditions.

Signal processing relates to the analysis of signals and the performance of operations on those signals over time.

Chaos theory ideas can be applied by looking at the differences in the initial signal have to the output. Certain types of noise or outliers in the signal may cause very strange artifacts to appear in the processed signal.

Chaos theory may have an effect in the noise to message ratio of a signal, with a multitude of variables at the sender and recieved ends having an unpredictable result on the quality and information content. This is more an information theory idea than chaos theory. I suggest a look into information theory for further study in this area

You can’t be Sirius

My first random dip into internetmancy today, I get this Wikipedia page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sirius_in_fiction

Almost every book and podcast that I have been viewing lately has some mention of Sirius. I read Robert Anton Wilsons ‘Everything Is Under Control” last week and was staggered to the amount of references there to the star Sirius, and how many ancient cultures and modern conspiracy theories are tied with it.

The most interesting idea I have seen is that the Earth is in gravitational orbit around the Sirius system, and that this is the reason for the procession of the Equinoxes. Did you know that altough the other stars in the sky move slowly over thousands of years, changing their position where they rise in the night sky, Sirius in fact never does. It is a fixed point, just like you would expect if it was a central pivot point that we revolved around, and therefore in appearance the rest of the Universe revolved around as well.

The first encounter I had of this idea was from KMO’s interview of a fellow ETC Training village resident on the C-Realm podcast. They were discussing Walter Cruttendon’s book “The Lost Star Of Myth and Time” which discusses in detail the theory above.  This was then followed by this Red Ice Creations Interview {one of the best in a while) with Walter himself http://www.redicecreations.com/radio/2010/04apr/RIR-100425-SUB.html

Fascinating stuff, and a theory that seems quite solid, is testable and would shake the foundations of modern science and cosmology if it was true. This really isn’t a massive jump to consider that the Sun may have other gravitational objects out there that it is “locked in” with, and revolves around.

There seems to be a lot of scientific data to back these theories up. The other interesting idea that goes with the Sirius precession data is that Walter thinks that that the proximity we are to Sirius, or the place we are in this cycle has a direct bearing on the consciousness of people here on Earth. Following the theory, people actually get dumber or less conscious as the precession goes through its “great year”, and this accounts for the fall of civilizations. As the precession continues on, and the relative position and distance of Sirius changes, then people get smarter and an enlightenment of sorts begins.

I don’t know whether the current age is a dark age beginning, or an enlightened period moving more towards global consciousness. Only time will tell.

I have had an amazing amount of synchronicity between what I am reading, listening to and encountering in my day to day life at the moment. I am sure it all points to something, but I have no idea what.

Twitter and the clones

Twitter is the psyche of the monoculture- the trending topics and public walls all get people thinking down the same lines. They don’t just call them followers for nothing.

Everyone wants the world to conform to their image, but are endlessly bored when this occurs. The ego wants to stand out and be special, but the minute it does it starts to want everyperson and thing to be like it as well.

The process is good for producing cult followers, disciples, employees and citizens, but ultimately not good for the psyche of the creator. It leads to ultimate dissatisfaction and boredom.

You win the battle but lose the war, because as the smoke clears you see an army of clones, armed with your own memes advancing towards your position

Rails left in the wilderness

I find it facinating how often governments leave old train tracks in place when the lines are discontinued. They must think that they will resurrect them one day. Perhaps when peak oil strikes these rusty old derelects of a less economically rational world will once again provide the link between far flung communities.

Here where I live we actually have a real life steam train that goes about 30 kms inbetween the local communities, and is a popular tourist attraction. It was derelect for many years, I think between the 1930’s to the 60’s becuase of landslides and also it was not used for its original purpose of moving trees, cattle and crops down to the train lain that goes into Melbourne. So in this instance the old track had move purpose, from moving goods to moving tourists. Perhaps after a collapse, other parts of civilization will be repurposed in this way.

There is a real feel to these abandonnded tracks. The idea that so much work went into the construction of the track, and then so many years later the powers that be stop them and let them rust tells us a lot about modern society. We prop structures up while they work for us, and as soon as they stop working for us in an acceptable manner we get rid of them… sometimes. Well we should anyway. But the modern world does not, It goes on with outmoded ways of being, degrading the planet and its citizens further and further until the system will tell us to stop. Maybe we should walk the old tracks, consider why they have been closed down and then look around us.
What other structures, be they personal, business, governmental have served their purpose, and now can be left and not included on our current economies of upkeep.

Everything that we are attached to has an upkeep amount, be it attention, money, oil, physical labour, time spent. As soon as the upkeep amount goes over the incoming funds, the system is in trouble. Once the reserves of when the system was in surplass have run out then the system is over. This idea is fractal, it works for all levels of being, from relationships to suns and galaxies. All systems are an economy, and nothin can run on nothing

Who can see the face in the picture below.. it has been staring at me for the whole time i have been writing this

This place not yet abanndoned

Ok, I have big plans in store for this domain over the next few weeks. There is so much interesting information out there that needs to be shared, talked about, encouraged and expressed.

Have been tweeting a lot of thoughts lately, so if you are interested go and check out http://www.twitter.com/inforeality

It is so hard not to speak about things like consciousness and the nature of reality without sounding massively new age. That is not my intention. At all.

So when I say that we are on the edge of an age where Quantum Physics , Consciousness Studies, Genetics, Information Theory and what would have once been termed The Paranormal, Shamanism, as well as Buddhist thought, Occult theory and the insights gained via psychedelics will all converge, and we begin to see the similarities between these areas. I can see them, and so can a lot of other people. It’s just quite hard to put it into words. Well at least words that are not just empty rehashes of the same old theories.

I mean words that can be used, expanded on. Tested and poked and prodded. Shaken until more truth drops from them.

From the history of man people have speculated on the nature of reality and conciousness, they just have not had the language or conceptual framework to make any sense out of it. For instance, say that reality behaved in much the same way as computer software. It is only in this present age that we would begin to be able to grasp this in any percievable way. Before that it would be very vauge analogies and wild metaphors which would serve as explanations.

Tuning To The Random Message

My random internet divination / scrying came up with a very surprising result last night. The first push of the random Wikipedia button bought up a radio station that the headquarters is situated about 200 meters from my house.

In fact, I would say that it is the closest physical thing on wikipedia to my location when I pushed the button.

What are the chances of that happening.. One in a billion?  Seriosuly, that was a very spooky result to get back.

Still reeling from that, I pushed the random button again, and came up with this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruber

Some  cartoon character, nothing very synchronistic about that.

However

I then placed the answer into the Google Image Ripper, and came up with this.

There is a strange story about a fungus that looks like that.

Last year I pulled into the driveway and saw a strange red shape next to my fishpond. I had no idea what it was, and as I approached it I saw that it was a weird, red crinkly looking thing. It was one of these exact fungus. The first time that I had ever seen one was at that time, and it was virtually next to my front door. I have never seen one before in the local area (near Melbourne Australia), and have not seen one since.

So we have a massive change of synchronistic events here, meaningful to me, probably not to anyone reading this. I have a bit of a theory about all of this.

By encouraging the random function to play in your life, you bring the probability of available synchronicities up to a higher level. By completely opening yourself up to just surf the random data streams that come to us on the web, to follow the results of some random process, you give up control and let the universe talk directly to you.

Some people think that massively synchronistic events like these are an indicator by the universe that you are on the right path. I think that I have to agree with that hypothesis at the moment.

Also, by letting some random noise into the normally ordered nature of your life and thoughts, you open yourself up to evolve your consciousness, and just to learn and consider things you wouldn’t normally.

So what is the message? Tune to the frequency of the fungus. To look for the strange differences that present themselves in life?

Buddha Routes The System

For a message to be understood from any source of information, first you must have the algorithm/filter to uncompress, translate or understand it. You must have a pre-defined understanding, like know the language, or the symbol set used, in order interpret the reality in front of you in the right context.

For the full understanding to arise you must uncompress the concept held in the words, symbols or data

The Buddha talks of nirvana as an uncompressed reality, and a unity of all consciousness. The Buddha obtained this state is by shutting down the external Inputs and Outputs to your consciousness. Block out all the data that is possible coming in to be processed. Once that is achieved, starts to look for something else to process. It works over its backlog of thoughts and starts to bring things to the surface.

The Buddha would then start to shut down the internal Inputs/Outputs’ between the minds internal systems. Not identify with any of the thoughts, see each arising and departing separately. The internal thought filters that you use start to fall away, and  you start to get a sense of the whole system as one thing.

Perhaps this nirvana is seeing the whole stream of data as one indefinable chunk. Of not labeling internal or external, of just living a pure, undifferentiated, unlabelled experience (or at least having a living comprehension of this idea). An un-compressed, unfiltered view of reality.

Terrence Mckenna – No One Is Smarter Than Anyone Else

All anyone has is the value of their direct experience of the world. Everything else is just heresay and speculation. Go out and find your own answers, and walk your own path. Everything that there is to be known about the universe has not already been thought of. Give us your unique spin, your angle that makes the light reflect of everything a little differently.
