Blogs for profit – A how to guide

There are so many people out there that are strating blogs to sell on the likes of flippa.com.

The idea is that you find a new topic that is about to trend hard, like an iPad for instance. You buy a domain associated with it, get wordpress installed. You then just blog about any news items that come in about it over 2 or three months.

Combined with a good backlinking strategy, and anything else you can do to start to get traffic showing on the analytics account, these blogs can sell for about $5000 each once the domian has aged. I really don’t know who is buying these. If you had something to sell in order to leveredge the traffic it would make sense.

It looks like a lot of work though, and not many of them actually sell. A lot more make about $50, after 3 months of fairly draining mental effort. Even if they are outsources, the chance of making more than you spend is quite low for a lot of them.

You really just need to get online and blog from deep within. Just let your consciousness flow onto the page, out through your fingertips and you will soon see results. I couldn’t keep my writing on topic if I tried.

This is also supposed to be an egoless exercise. I am writing here to be purely free of results. I dont care what happens to this blog. Its just to let the words flow, and to keep them flowing. Something changes inside when you let the words flow out without an editor in the way. You feel lighter, free-er. I wonder how much of the worlds depression and angst is becuase people spend all day consuming words and ideas, but feel that they have no real way to express them. Being pent up, full of a creative energy that just wants to burn out.

This really is more of a surrealist / expressionist paintin

This blog is a sigilised magickal act

This blog is both the ego letting go, and an exploration of the collective unconsciousness and reality. I had a whole other post ready to go here on the iPhone, and then deleted it as I was cutting and pasting. I really need a better way of producing content on the fly.

Back to the main focus of this post, and that is the idea that this blog is a magickal framework, and also a sigil itself for my own magickal understanding of the universe, my enlightenment at the realisation that there ‘is no point’

Fun is had in life when there is no point. The pathless path is the only one worth taking. The journey is the experience, and there is no where to get to on this one. All goals are illusory, but they can be fun illusions to attain. Don’t struggle to attain anything, just play

Play is the essence of life. Things done just for the sake of it. Just to see what happens. That is the nature of good magick, art, adventure, fiction, life.

Start with the end in mind and you may as well not begin. If you are not going to begin anything, then you may as well yourself as you do that nothing.

There is nothing to attain, you are but dust and a spark of the everything, and the you that thinks this does not own the dust or the spark.

I have this competing notion in my head that there are things to discover, but also the realisation that everything is fleeting, illusory and pointless. Not many enlightened magicians out there are there. I wonder why those two stereotypes are so far apart.

Why is the mage and the mystic, the magi and the holy man always different, always on different paths and displayed separately in the narrative?

The answer to the reconciliation of these archetypes is the play notion. Do not be the Magician, or the Emperor, but be the Fool.

Love life for its sake, know that its a game. Love that its a game. Live everything as an experiment. Every act is discover and  play. Live with beginners mind. That is Zen. The magician is the scientist. The scientist knows that when they start an experiment they have some hypothesis, but the results have to speak for themselves. The scientific method states that any preconception may bias the results, so all precautions are taken not to do so.

The magickian does magic as play. Just because, just to see. Really. Everything else that is done in the name of magick is done in ego. You are forcing the point, you are dancing against the universe, not with it.

You are not enlightened in any way, and you are pissing in the wind more than those other that live everyday normal lives

To niche or not to niche

Here is a question for anyone who finds this blog in the future, at some time. Is is better to have a blog that is all about a single niche, or just fill a large wordpress installation up with content, and trap the passing traffic with a click or a comment.

Most blogs out there are not digested in one huge chunk, but just as seperate posts. One is read, and then the reader moves on. There is not point in having one consistant whole, if that is less interesting and optimised to find search results.

What you really should have is one domain with the maximum amount of novelty as possible. The largest amount of sticky search terms to attract long tail visitors. Especially if the site is not a personal branding site.

Please internet blog authors, just write what you want to write, not what you think people want to hear.

Wikipedia Content Creation System

The main way of writing this blog is by hunting down random wikipedia articles, and then streaming out my thoughts on the subject and giving it the best SEO tags that i can find.

To do this I use the following tool

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Randompageset

Worpdress Tag suggest Thing
Wordpress all in one SEO

By doing this, i can get articles indexed on this page in a matter of an hour, getting to the top of google for the query string that is the article title.

It is my hypothesis that if i do this long enough, there will be a long chain of results that will result in some form of passive adsense income. It is also a great way to get ideas flowing as it gives your mind 100% free reign to write about anything that comes to mind.

Author Of Search Engine Results

Got the first search engine traffic starting to trickle in here now, which is excellent.  It is a great feeling when the great google spider decides to decend on your domain and weave the web.

The keyword traffic was for science fiction, which is something that I will be writing about quite a lot here over the life of this blog. I have always been a moderate fan of science fiction. Not the out and out hard stuff, like asimov etc. I first got a taste for it reading HG Wells when I was about 10, and quickly moved around reading Piers Anthony, Robert Heinlan and any other kind of pulp stuff I could get my hands on.

I soon moved onto horror, where Stephen King, Richard Laymon and Clive Barker fed my overactive imagination through my teenage years.

Now the kind of science fiction that I enjoy is stuff like the works of phillip k dick. Good old PKD is like an internet phenomena, nearly everyone is into him. Thats becuase the dude was out there.

I think he had a small intimation of the Information Reality, and the power of letting the logos, or words do the talking, and you just getting out of the way.

Online Thought Journal

This blog is a way of keeing the flow of ideas running in my head, so they do not stagnate and become forgotten, dead concepts.

I have found already that as soon as you turn of the tap of ideas, they continue to flow from nowhere. Once you get rid of any idea of style, or overall meaning then the words just flow from an invisible source, dictated in my head and translated via my fingers to the screen.

I really want to create some interesting and insightful material here, but have no qualms at all about the readability of the blog as a whole, and what people make of it. If there is an interesting InfoChunk in the writing that people get something from, then that is great.

I mean, in a whole 600 page novel, there may only be 2 or 3 great things that people can come away with after that massive time investment. One 400 word blog post could give you one great thing, and all for a time investment of 5 minutes.

So just to let you know, this is first and foremost just a stream of conciousness thought journal

Letting The Flow Go

The whole thing with this form of stream of conciousness writing is that it is very quick and easy to generate content.

LETS GET SPOOKY

It is a bit like channeling really, you just put the hands on the keyboard and go for it, just start dictating the voice of you concious thought and see where it leads. It is a great way to generate content for a blog like this.

I just made a pact with myself that I would continue to write, no matter what the subject and see what the result was, and if it came to any kind of meaningful time / money equation.

The key to life is to be as open as possible, and to let the music out. Dont keep the music inside, just let it out to talk and interact with the universe at large.

Let go with the flow.

I have the idea that if I have enough snippets like this, I can just start threading them together into larger articles for some of my other projects.

Also , i just want to declare the public goal of getting one adsense click or affiliate sale. I can grow this exponentially from there.

Peace out flowsters

Tent Of The Digital Nomad

What you read on this blog may be deemed as nonsense. It is a stream of conciousness effort by myself to test out a number of SEO tactics, wordpress plugins and my ability to write keyword rich articles.

Its not meant to be smart, it’t not meant to be pretty. Its a record of my daily travels through the web, the contents of my mind, the output of my keyword research, and part one of a net to capture stray clicks like a spider in a web, and route them through various ppc.

Sometimes the posts will be nonsense, sometimes the will be totaly off topic.. Its not meant to be linear. At all. Dont subscribe to the RSS, or if you do, and want to get an idea of what REALLY is going on around here, behind the smoke and mirror show for the search spiders, then look at posts in the category BACKCHANEL.

This is now the home of the digital nomad, known throughout the traps as informat78.

All posts that relate to information reality theory will be in the category INFOREALITY

Otherwise I will be on digital walkabout, baiting the hook with tasty, keyword rich articles and trying to attract stray clicks.
